Commentary YouTube as a new media genre

Celem tej pracy jest przedstawienie Commentary YouTube jako nowego gatunku medialnego. W trakcie pisania korzystano z literatury fachowej dotyczącej powstania terminu „gatunku”, „hybrydyzacji” i „dziennikarstwa w sieci”. W celu uzupełnienia wybranych kwestii sięgnięto również do zasobów internetowych w postaci artykułów jak i również materiałów zamieszczonych na YouTubie. Badania przeprowadzono oryginalną metodą jakościową, stworzoną na potrzeby tej pracy, gdzie wybrane filmy twórców, przy użyciu kwerendy internetowej na YouTubie, rozłożono na czynniki pierwsze i spisano w tabelach, wraz ze szczegółowym przebiegiem wydarzeń w każdym wideo. Co umożliwiło wytypowanie występujących w nich cech oraz podobieństw względem siebie nawzajem i innych gatunków. Tak zebrane dane z kolei, zestawiono ze sobą, tak aby ukazać występujące między nimi podobieństwa w strukturze oraz zestawie cech. W części teoretycznej pracy opisano zagadnienia powstawania gatunków na gruncie dziennikarskim oraz medialnym, jak i wytłumaczono historię powstania oraz czym dokładnie jest platforma YouTube, wraz z problemem nazewnictwa form wideo występujących na niej. W część badawczej dokonano dogłębnej analizy wybranych filmów na YouTubie. Całość badań opatrzono wnioskami, gdzie zebrano razem i pokazano występujące podobieństwa opisywanych filmów oraz uprawdopodobniono powstanie nowego gatunku medialnego, jakim jest Commentary YouTube na gruncie akademickim.

The main purpose of this work is to present Commentary YouTube as a new media genre. While writing this work, professional literature on the emergence of the terms "genre", "hybridization" and "online journalism" was used. In order to supplement selected topics, internet resources were also used in the form of articles as well as materials posted on YouTube.The research was carried out using the original qualitative method created for this specific work, where selected films of the creators, picked by an internet query on YouTube, were broken down into the prime factors and listed in tables with the course of events in each video painstakingly described. As a result, it was possible to select common features and similarities to each other and also other genres. The collected data in turn was juxtaposed to show the similarities between them in the structure and also in the set of features. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the issues of the origin of the genre in journalism and media are described, as well as the history of the creation and what exactly is the YouTube platform now, along with the problem of naming the video forms appearing on it. In the research part, an in-depth analysis of selected YouTube videos was made. The entire study was accompanied by conclusions, where the occurring similarities of the described films were collected and shown, and as such made the emergence of a new media genre, which is Commentary YouTube, more probable in an academic field.
