Innovative management methods and their use in health care organizations

Praca pokazuje możliwości jakie daje wykorzystanie benchmarkingu, sourcingu oraz lean management w opiece zdrowotnej. Benchmarking to metoda polegająca na porównywaniu się z innymi jednostkami. Sourcing obejmuje dwie metody: out- oraz insourcing, które polegają odpowiednio na delegowaniu i przyjmowaniu zadań do/od innych jednostek. Ostatnia metoda to lean management – dotycząca ulepszania procesów pracy. Wszystkie trzy wymienione metody należą w polskich warunkach, w sektorze nadal zdrowia do metod innowacyjnych, ponieważ są jeszcze stosunkowo rzadko wykorzystywane w jednostkach opieki zdrowotnej. Warto je jednak rozpowszechniać, gdyż jak pokazują przykłady - mogą pozwolić na znaczącą poprawę funkcjonowania jednostki opieki zdrowotnej.

The dissertation shows the opportunities which three concepts: benchmarking, sourcing and lean management - can provide healthcare organizations. Benchmarking is a method comparing the given organization (or its part) with other – usually external, and better - ones. Sourcing consists of two: out- and in-sourcing. While the first is about delegating tasks to other sub-contracting organization, the latter consists on offering and providing own services to others. The last concept presented is a lean management. It is based on improving existing work processes. In Poland, all the three methods are considered to be innovative as they are relatively rarely used by domestic healthcare organizations. However, examples show that those methods are worth spreading in this sector as they may vitally improve the functioning of each healthcare organization.
