Artykuł stanowi sprawozdanie z VIII Międzynarodowej Konferencji European Conference on Information Literacy, ECIL 2023, która odbyła się w Krakowie, w dniach 9-12 października 2023 r. Tematem przewodnim tegorocznej edycji było doświadczanie informacji i kultury informacyjnej, w tym doświadczenie informacyjne jako forma zachowań informacyjnych (ang. experiencing information, information experience, information literacy experiencing) oraz percypowanie oraz kształtowanie kompetencji informacyjnych. Konferencja zorganizowana została przez Instytut Studiów Informacyjnych UJ, we współudziale Wydziału Zarządzania Informacją (Department of Information Management) na Uniwersytecie Hacettepe w Ankarze (Turcja), Wydziału Nauk o Informacji i Komunikacji (Department of Information and Communication Sciences) na Uniwersytecie w Zagrzebiu (Chorwacja) oraz Stowarzyszenia Information Literacy Association (InLitAs) z siedzibą we Francji. W publikacji przedstawiono najważniejsze podejmowane problemy doświadczania informacji jak i kultury i kompetencji informacyjnych (ang. information literacy), jak i istotne wystąpienia, z obszaru nauk społecznych, nauki o informacji, także w interdyscyplinarnym ujęciu.

This article is a report on the 8th International Conference on Information Literacy, ECIL 2023, held in Kraków, Poland, 9-12 October 2023. The theme of this year's edition was experiencing information and information culture, including information experience as a form of information behaviour (experiencing information, information experience, information literacy experiencing) and perceiving and shaping information literacy. The conference was organised by the Institute of Information Studies at the Jagiellonian University, in cooperation with the Department of Information Management at Hacettepe University in Ankara (Turkey), the Department of Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Zagreb (Croatia) and the Information Literacy Association (InLitAs) based in France. The publication presents the most important issues of experiencing information as well as information literacy, as well as relevant contributions, from the field of social sciences, information science, also in an interdisciplinary perspective.
