Comparative analysis of the financial condition of x-kom sp. z o.o. and Nowa Itaka sp. z o.o. companies in the years 2019-2021

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przeprowadzenie analizy porównawczej kondycji finansowej dwóch przedsiębiorstw z różnych sektorów gospodarki. W części teoretycznej omówione zostały zasady prowadzenia sprawozdawczości finansowej, najważniejsze informacje związane z pojęciem analizy finansowej, jak i wskaźniki finansowe, które posłużyły do przeprowadzenie analizy sytuacji finansowej badanych jednostek. W części empirycznej przedstawiono wyniki badań, których głównym celem było wykazanie zmian i porównanie kondycji finansowej dwóch przedsiębiorstw w latach 2019-2021 pod wpływem pandemii COVID-19. Podmiotami wybranymi do badań zostały spółka x-kom, działająca w sektorze e-commerce, oraz spółka Nowa Itaka z sektora turystycznego. Proces badawczy zrealizowano przy zastosowaniu następujących metod i narzędzi badawczych: analizy treści dokumentacji oraz analizy finansowej, podzielonej na analizę poziomą i pionową, wskaźnikową oraz porównawczą. Jako główne źródła danych empirycznych wykorzystano sprawozdania finansowe badanych spółek. Na podstawie wyników przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że pandemia COVID-19 przyczyniła się po poprawy sytuacji finansowej w jednostkach działających w sektorze e-commerce oraz znacząco pogorszyła sytuację jednostek z sektora turystycznego.

The aim of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the financial condition of two companies from different sectors of the economy. The theoretical part discusses the principles of financial reporting, provide the most important information related to financial analysis and presents the financial indicators which were used to analyze the condition of the examined companies. In the empirical part the results of the research are presented. Their aim was to show the changes and compare the financial condition of two companies in the years 2019-2021 under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The companies selected for the study were x-kom, operating in the e-commerce sector, and Nowa Itaka from the tourism sector. The research process was carried out using the following methods and research tools: content analysis of documentation and financial analysis, divided into horizontal and vertical analysis, ratio analysis, and comparative analysis. The main sources of empirical data were the financial statements of the examined companies. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the improvement of the financial situation in enterprise operating in the e-commerce sector, while significantly worsening the situation of companies in the tourism sector.
