The dance of Fred Astaire. The analysis of his dancing style with movie's partners and solo.

Celem mojej pracy licencjackiej była analiza stylu tanecznego Freda Astaire’a solo i w duecie. Początkowo skupiłam się na przedstawieniu osoby Freda Astaire’a, następnie porównałam sposób tworzenia choreografii filmowej przez niego i Busby’ego Berkeley’a. Następnie postanowiłam pokazać jaką rolę pełniły kobiety, zarówno w jego początkach kariery tanecznej (para taneczna tworzona z siostrą), jak i później w karierze filmowej, na przykładzie sześciu aktorek - Joan Crawford, Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth, Judy Garland, Cyd Charisse oraz Audrey Hepburn. W następnym rozdziale podjęłam próbę analizy tańca Freda Astaire’a w filmach, w których wystąpił z wyżej wymienionymi aktorkami. Podsumowanie mojej pracy ma na celu przedstawienie najważniejszych cech Freda Astaire’a (perfekcjonizm i tytaniczna praca), które pozwoliły osiągnąć mu sukces dzięki, któremu do dziś nazywany jest legendą musicalu.

The purpose of my graduate work was to analyze the style of dance of Fred Astaire. At first, I focused on the presentation of Fred Astaire, then I compared the way he and Busby Berkeley created the film choreography. I have also presented the role of women at the beginning of his career as a dance partner (a dance partner with her sister), and later in the film career, with the example of six actresses - Joan Crawford, Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth, Judy Garland, Cyd Charisse and Audrey Hepburn. The next chapter shows the analysis the dance of Fred Astaire in the films in which he starred with the aforementioned actresses. The summary of my work presents Fred Astaire's most important qualities (perfectionism and titanic work) that have made him successful, and to this day is called the legend of the musical.
