Is there a coherent atheistic worldview? An attempt to describe and analyze on the basis of the academic literature and self-research

Ateizm przez wieki był zmarginalizowanym zjawiskiem społecznym i kulturowym, jednak postępująca laicyzacja życia w Europie Zachodniej umożliwia aktywizację działań osób, deklarujących się jako niewierzący. Problematyka badawcza pracy oscyluje wokół próby zdiagnozowania światopoglądu ateistycznego poprzez wyjaśnienie pojęć, prześledzenie historii oraz poruszenie tematów dotyczących niewiary, jej wpływu na styl życia i nastawienia do religii. Praca ma na celu uporządkowanie i poszerzenie informacji na tematu ateizmu, by stworzyć spójny obraz mniejszości światopoglądowej, jaką stanowią ludzie odrzucający wiarę w byt transcendentalny. Materiał jakościowy, uzyskany za pomocą wywiadów swobodnych oraz obserwacji online, pomoże ukazać specyfikę poglądów ateistycznych i pogłębić obraz polskiego ateisty.

Throughout history atheism was marginalized in every culture, but the progressive secularization of Western Europe made it possible for people to say that they are nonbelievers. This thesis is dedicated to an attempt to show the atheistic world-view through explaining some terms, following the history of atheism and bringing up topics related to atheism, its influence on one’s lifestyle and attitude towards religion. The main purpose of this thesis is to classify and extend information about atheism, so a coherent picture of that minority can be seen with more clarity. The quality material – gathered through unstructured interview and online observation – will by helpful in showing the specific nature of atheistic world-view and the fuller portrait of polish atheists.
