The role of the nurse in the care of patients with atopic dermatitis

Z roku na rok przybywa coraz więcej pacjentów wymagających opieki dermatologicznej. Wśród chorób najczęściej diagnozowanych wymienia się atopowe zapalenie skóry. Pod tą nazwą kryje się genetyczna choroba skóry o przewlekłym i nawrotowym charakterze. Cechą charakterystyczną atopowego zapalenia skóry , oprócz zaburzeń w sferze fizycznej jest występowanie dysfunkcji w sterze psychicznej i społecznej, które w znaczny sposób wpływają na obniżenie jakości życia chorego i jego rodziny. Ważną rolę w procesie diagnozowania, leczenia i profilaktyki odgrywa pielęgniarka, dlatego też celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie roli pielęgniarki w postępowaniu z chorym na atopowe zapalenia skóry. Praca składa się z 3 części. W części pierwszej przedstawiono budowę, funkcje, warunki prawidłowego funkcjonowania skóry oraz epidemiologię chorób skóry.W rozdziale drugim dokonano charakterystyki atopowego zapalenia skóry w oparciu o dostępną literaturę naukową. Wyjaśniono pojęcia podstawowe, przedstawiono etiologię, patomechanizm, diagnostykę, kliniczne postacie, psychospołeczne następstwa oraz metody leczenia jej choroby. W rozdziale trzecim charakteryzowano rolę pielęgniarki w opiece nad chorym na atopowe zapalenie skóry. Przedstawiono też własną propozycję poradnika dla pacjenta z tą jednostką chorobową.

Every year the number of patients requiring dermatological care increases. The most commonly diagnosed skin disease is atopic dermatitis. This is chronically relapsing skin disorder that has hereditary component. Physical, mental and social disorders are very characteristic for this type of skin inflammation and they may reduce the patient's and his family's quality of life. The role of nurse is very important in the process of diagnosis, treatment and prevention atopic dermatitis. The purpose of this paper is to present the role of nurses in atopic dermatitis treatment.The document consists of three parts. The structure of the skin, conditions providing its proper functioning and the epidemiology of skin disease are presented in the first chapter.The characteristic of atopic dermatitis, based on the available scientific literature, is presented in the second part of this paper. There is also an explanation of basic terms, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical forms of atopic dermatitis, psychosocial consequences and treatment of the disease.The role of nurses in the care of patients with atopic dermatitis is shown in the third part. Suggestions, presented as a guide, are recommended in the last section.
