What did you call me? - analiza tłumaczenia wulgaryzmów w polskiej wersji lektorskiej filmu Wilk z Wall Street

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza tłumaczenia polskiej wersji lektorskiej filmu Wilk z Wall Street pod kątem tłumaczenia wulgaryzmów. Praca składa się z wstępu, czterech rozdziałów (dwa rozdziały teoretyczne i dwa praktyczne) oraz podsumowania. W rozdziałach teoretycznych poruszone zostały zagadnienia: wulgaryzmu jako jednostki językowej, jego rodzajów, funkcji, odbioru społecznego i podłoża psychologicznego jego użycia oraz strategii i technik używanych w procesie tłumaczenia tego typu słownictwa w filmach. Rozdziały praktyczne przedstawiają najważniejsze informacje dotyczące filmu Wilk z Wall Street oraz wybrane przykłady użycia wulgaryzmów w filmie, z podziałem na kategorie oraz omówieniem zastosowanych w tłumaczeniu strategii i technik. W podsumowaniu zostały sformułowane wnioski, podsumowane użyte przez tłumacza rozwiązania oraz omówiony ich wpływ na odbiór filmu przez widzów.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the translation of the Polish voiceover version of the movie The Wolf of Wall Street from the perspective of the translation of swearwords. The thesis consists of the introduction, four chapters (two theoretical and two practical), and conclusions. The theoretical chapters cover the following issues: swearwords as a linguistic unit, their types, functions, social reception, and psychological background of their use, as well as strategies and techniques used in the process of translation of this type of vocabulary in movies. The practical chapters present the most important information about the movie The Wolf of Wall Street and selected examples of the use of swearwords in the movie, divided into categories and discussing the strategies and techniques used in translation. In conclusion, the solutions used by the translator are summarised and their impact on the audience's perception of the film is discussed.
