Stylisation in "Fables for Robots" and "The Cyberiad" by Stanislaw Lem and their Ukrainian translations

"Bajki robotów" i "Cyberiada" to wybitne dzieła Stanisława Lema, charakteryzujące się przede wszystkim niekonwencjonalnym, niejednokrotnie wręcz groteskowym połączeniem baśni, historii i zaawansowanej technologii przyszłości. Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest stylizacjom wykorzystanym w utworach Lema oraz w ich ukraińskich tłumaczeniach. Część teoretyczna podzielona jest na kilka rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich dotyczy ogółu twórczości autora oraz jego wielkiej fascynacji nauką i technologią, która odbija się na kartach stworzonych przez niego dzieł. Kolejny rozdział zawiera szereg informacji o bajkach oraz gatunkach pokrewnych, następnie obszernie opisane zostały stylizacje literackie. Część praktyczna to analiza przykładów, które pomagają kreować daną stylizację w oryginale, oraz ich tłumaczenia.

„Fabels for Robots” and „The Cyberiad” are outstanding opuses written by Stanislaw Lem. Their characteristic feature is, above all, unconventional, sometimes even grotesque combination of fairy tale, history and advanced technology of the future. This thesis is devoted to stylisation used in works of Lem and their Ukrainian translations. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters. The first gives an overall look at author’s legacy and his great passion for science and technology, which is reflected on pages of each his work. Another section contains some information about fairy tales and related genres, and broadly describes the literary stylisations. The practical part includes the analysis of examples, which help to create a certain style in the original and their translations.
