Praca jest opisem problemu badawczego, jakim jest wpływ alkoholizmu na funkcjonowanie całej rodziny. Tematyka pracy została rozwinięta poprzez analizę literatury przedmiotu oraz własnych doświadczeń, stąd też praca poza charakterem naukowym ma również charakter osobisty.Zgłębiony został tutaj termin – alkoholizm oraz obszary z nim związane : przyczyny, fazy rozwoju i mechanizmy uzależnienia, typy alkoholików, role w rodzinie alkoholowej, przemoc, syndrom Dorosłego Dziecka Alkoholika, proces trzeźwienia. Praktyczną część pracy stanowi biograficzne studium przypadku, które ukazuje spojrzenie od wewnątrz na problem alkoholizmu i życia z trzeźwiejącym alkoholikiem. Podsumowaniem pracy jest analiza i interpretacja materiału badawczego oraz wnioski.

The work is a description of the research problem, which is the impact of alcoholism on the functioning of the whole family. The subject of work has been developed through the analysis of the literature of the subject and own experience, hence also the work outside of the scientific character is also personal.The term "alcoholism" and related areas have been deepened here: causes, development stages and mechanisms of addiction, types of alcoholics, roles in the alcoholic family, violence, Alcoholic Adult Child Syndrome, the sobering process.The practical part of the work is a biographical case study, which shows a look from the inside on the problem of alcoholism and life with a sobering alcoholic. The summary of the work is the analysis and interpretation of the research material and conclusions.
