The treatise of the myth of the Ukrainian women in the "Field Work In Ukrainian Sex" by Oksana Zabuzhko

Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej było zbadanie tego, w jaki sposób emancypuje się bohaterka Badań terenowych nad ukraińskim seksem Oksany Zabużko w oparciu o historyczno-polityczną sytuację kobiet na Ukrainie. Podstawą tego badania miał być fakt, że brak odpowiedniego feministycznego odczytania literatury ukraińskiej doprowadził do tego, iż do dziś postać kobiety jest w niej mocno zmitologizowana. Posłużyłam się zatem stereotypem kobiety ukraińskiej, aby skonfrotntować z nim postać bohaterki. Powodem jej zniewolenia były między innymi mitologizacja roli kobiety w społeczeństwie i kulturze ukraińskiej oraz jej relacje z partnerem. W rezultacie dowiodło to, że bohaterka, starając się wyzwolić od różnych źródeł ucisku, w pełni się emancypuje. Ważny element pracy stanowi zestawienie recepcji książki w Polsce i na Ukrainie. Różnica ta polega na rozbieżności kulturowej i czasowej towarzyszącej obu wydaniom.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate which way the heroine of “Field Work In Ukrainian Sex” by Oksana Zabuzhko emancipates and that fact is based on the historical and political situation of women in Ukraine. The basis of this study was to be the fact that the lack of suitable feminist reading in Ukrainian literature has led to the fact that today the figure of a woman is heavily mythologized in it. Therefore I used the stereotype of Ukrainian woman to contrast with the character of the heroine. The reason for the enslavement was the mythologization of the role of women in the society and Ukrainian culture and its relationship with the partner. The result showed that the heroine, trying to free herself from the various sources of oppression, became fully emancipated.. An important element of the work is a comparison of the book reception in Poland and Ukraine. The difference lies in the cultural and temporal differences which accompany the two editions.
