The nobleman's farm in the late Middle Ages

Celem niniejszej pracy jest zbadanie historii społeczno-ekonomicznej w Polsce okresu późnego średniowiecza. Praca dotyczy roli i funkcji folwarków szlacheckich w tym okresie. Autor analizuje i zestawia folwarki z ogólnym funkcjonowaniem gospodarki w średniowiecznej Polsce omawianego okresu. Problematyka pracy skupia się wokół takich aspektów jak: organizacja folwarków, system pracy chłopów, produkcja rolno-spożywcza, oraz wpływ folwarków na rozwój ekonomiczny i społeczny regionów szlacheckich. Autor przedstawia także kontekst historyczny i ewolucję folwarków szlacheckich, wskazując na ich znaczenie w feudalnym systemie gospodarczym późnego średniowiecza.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the socio-economic history in Poland of the late medieval period. The work addresses the role and function of the nobleman’s farms in this period. The author analyses and juxtaposes the farms with the general functioning of the economy in medieval Poland during the period in question. The work focuses on such aspects as the organisation of the nobleman’s farms, the labour system of peasants, agricultural and food production, and the influence of the nobleman’s farms on the economic as well as social development of the noble regions. The author also presents the historical context and evolution of the nobleman’s farms, indicating their importance in the feudal economic system of the late Middle Ages.
