China-European Union Relations in the Context of One Belt One Road Initiative

Poniższa praca magisterska przedstawia relacje Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej z Unią Europejską i jej państwami członkowskimi w kontekście strategii gospodarczej Jeden Pas Jedna Droga. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie drogi ChRL do osiągnięcia obecnego poziomu rozwoju gospodarczego oraz tego, gdzie w planach dalszego rozwoju Chin leżą inne kraje i organizacje, zwłaszcza Unia Europejska. W analizie tekstów źródłowych zwrócono szczególną uwagę na przedstawieniu ewolucji dawnych chińskich relacji międzynarodowych, pierwszych kontaktów z Europejczykami, konfliktów i ich konsekwencji na politykę Chin względem obcokrajowców. Trzeci i ostatni rozdział pracy skupia się na samej inicjatywie Jeden Pas Jedna Droga, jej celach, planach działania, zaangażowaniu innych państw, regionów i organizacji oraz o szansach i ewentualnych zagrożeniach projektu. Opisuje również ogólne relacje pomiędzy Chińską Republiką Ludową a Unią Europejską, wcześniejsze współprace, strategie i wyzwania, zwłaszcza w kontekście dialogu. W trzecim rozdziale opisana została również rola Polski w Gospodarczym Pasie Jedwabnego Szlaku, jako swoistej bramy do Europy dla chińskich inwestycji i transportu towarów drogą kolejową w ramach inicjatywy.

The following master's thesis presents the relations of the People's Republic of China with the European Union and its member states in the context of the One Belt One Road economic strategy. The aim of the thesis is to present the PRC's way to achieve the current level of economic development and where other countries and organizations, especially the European Union, are in China's further development plans. In the analysis of the source texts, special attention was paid to presenting the evolution of the former Chinese international relations, the first contacts with Europeans, conflicts and their consequences on China's policy towards foreigners. The third and last chapter of the thesis focuses on the One Belt One Road initiative itself, its goals, plans, involvement of other countries, regions and organizations, as well as the opportunities and possible challenges to the project. It also describes the general relationship between the People's Republic of China and the European Union, past cooperations, strategies and challenges, especially in the context of a dialogue. The third chapter also describes the role of Poland in the Silk Road Economic Belt as a gateway to Europe for Chinese investments and rail transportation of goods.
