Autobiographical topics in the selected films by Marcel Łoziński, Marian Marzyński and Wojciech Staroń

Celem pracy magisterskiej „Wątki autobiograficzne w wybranych filmach Marcela Łozińskiego, Mariana Marzyńskiego i Wojciecha Staronia” jest omówienie wątków auto-biograficznych na wybranych filmach autorów, którzy zostali wymienieni w tytule rozprawy. Do pracy wybrałem twórców o wysokim poziomie autoekspresji, dokumentalistów, których filmy są w pełnym tego słowa znaczeniu „ich filmami”. Przybliżenie Czytelnikowi twórczości Łozińskiego, Marzyńskiego i Staronia, analiza i interpretacja strategii autobiograficznych, jakimi się posługują, wydało mi się rzeczą ważną w czasach, w których zalewani jesteśmy wszelkimi formami autoekspresji. W rozdziale pierwszym wskazuję na teoretyczne i historyczne problemy, jakie wiążą się z kinem autobiograficznym. Rozdział drugi poświęcony jest trzem, znanym dobrze dziełom Marcela Łozińskiego: Wizyta, Próba Mikrofonu i Ćwiczenia warsztatowe. Próbuję w nich odnaleźć autobiograficzny i autotematyczny ładunek i jednocześnie podkreślam, że filmy te powstały w momencie, kiedy nikt jeszcze nie mówił o dokumentalizmie osobistym. Rozdział trzeci dotyczy twórczości Mariana Marzyńskiego, a dokładnie utworów: Nigdy nie zapomnij kłamać, Powrót do Polski i Any. Jest to autor, który już pod koniec lat sześćdziesiątych zaczął na emigracji rozwijać własną strategię autobiograficzną i dziś możemy go nazwać jednym z pierwszych reżyserów, sięgających po tę formułę dokumentalizmu. W rozdziale czwartym przyglądam się filmom Wojciecha Staronia: Syberyjskiej lekcji, Na chwilę i Argentyńskiej lekcji, dowodząc, że utwory te poszerzają granice współczesnego dokumentu autobiograficznego o nieznane dotąd horyzonty artystyczne.

The aim of the thesis "Autobiographical topics in the selected films by Marcel Łoziński, Marian Marzyński and Wojciech Staroń" is autobiographical discussion about the se-lected films, the authors, who were mentioned in the title of the hearing. The authors I have chosen to work with represent high level of self-expression, are documentary filmmakers, whose films are in the full sense of the word – "the movies". It seemed im-portant these days, when we are inundated with all forms of self-expression to present, analyze and interpret the autobiographical strategy of Loziński, Marzyński and Staroń. The first section shows the theoretical and historical problems that are associated with autobiographical cinema. The second chapter is devoted to the three, well-known works of Marcel Loziński: The Visit, Microphone’s test and Practice exercises. I try to find there an autothematic and autobiographical message and at the same time emphasize that these films were formed at a time when no one talked about the personal documen-talism. The third chapter concerns the work of Marian Marzyński and the films: Never Forget To Lie, Return to Poland and Anya In and Out of Focus. Marzyński is the author who at the end of the sixties, during his emigration period, began to develop his own autobiographical strategy and today we can call him the one of the first directors, who reached for this documentary formula. In the fourth chapter I take a closer look at the films by Wojciech Staroń: Siberian Lesson, For a while and Argentinian Lesson, trying to prove that these works expand the boundaries of the contemporary autobiographical document to unknown artistic horizons.
