Coronary artery bypass grafting is a vital aspect of medicine as it is one of thesurgeries performed to save human lives. The bypass surgery is the recommendedtreatment for ischaemic heart disease. The main reason why a patient requires such surgeryis the increased coronary atherosclerosis. Coronary artery bypass operation is an open heartsurgery, with collateral circulation, carried out under general anesthesia. However, beatingheartcoronary artery surgery is becoming more and more popular nowadays. Recoveringprocess after this type of surgery requires safe and accurate nursing care, which cannot befocused only on the physical status of the patient. All the patients should be treatedcomprehensively. Not only should a disease be perceived in purely biological terms, but italso needs be understood in terms of a combination of biological, psychological and socialfactors. The aim of this work was to present a model of postoperative care after coronaryartery surgery.

Przyczyną jest narastająca miażdżycaw tętnicach wieńcowych. Zabieg polegający na pomostowaniu aortalno-wieńcowymzasadniczo przeprowadza się pod narkozą na otwartym sercu przy zastosowaniu krążeniaobocznego. Coraz częściej jednak zaczyna się wykonywać tego typu operacje na bijącymsercu. Opieka nad pacjentami po wszczepieniu pomostów aortalno-wieńcowych powinnabyć dokładna i staranna; nie ograniczać się tylko do poprawy stanu fizycznego pacjenta.Należy traktować pacjentów kompleksowo biorąc pod uwagę ich stan bio-psychospołeczny,a nie tylko fakt choroby. Celem pracy było opracowanie modelu opieki nadpacjentem po wszczepieniu pomostów aortalno-wieńcowych.
