Stosunek społeczny wobec zjawiska pedofilii
stosunek społeczny, postawa, pedofilia, zjawisko pedofilii
social attitude, attitude, pedophilia, the phenomenon of pedophilia
The subject of the thesis is the social attitude towards the phenomenon of pedophilia, in the context of own research. The aim of the thesis is to identify possible differences in relation to the phenomenon of pedophilia among childless persons and persons who have children, as well as to show differences in the relationship among the respondents due to their level of anxiety, aggression and empathy. The theoretical part covers the basic issues concerning sexual crimes and social attitudes. In the empirical part, there were introduced the results of a sample of 60 people, with a distinction between their fertility, sex, education and psychological aspects (aggression level, anxiety level, empathy level). The sources of data obtained and their statistical analysis are the following research tools: self-questionnaire survey questionnaire studying social attitude towards pedophilia, STAI Fear Self-Assessment Questionnaire in adaptation of C.D. Spielberger, J. Strelau, M. Tysarczyk and K. Wrześniewski, Z. Gasia Psychological Inventory of Aggression Syndrome and M.H. Davis Index of Interpersonal Reactivity. Six research hypotheses were accepted in the thesis, but not each one of them was supported by research. Persons with high levels of aggression are in favor of an elimination function of the punishment of pedophiles. Another important finding concerns the recognition that people with high levels of anxiety do not experience more negative emotions with regard to pedophilia, they do not also have more knowledge about the phenomenon of pedophilia. Studies haven't shown that people with high levels of empathy more often treat pedophilia as a disease. They also do not have much knowledge of pedophilia and do not accept milder pedophile behavior. However, it is true that women are more likely than men to have negative emotions about pedophiles, and that they continue to isolate those who have been punished. The relationship between the fact of having children and the level of knowledge about pedophilia, as well as the impact of education on the level of knowledge about the risks of pedophilia and the reality of punishment have not been demonstrated.
