The image of John F. Kennedy in media coverage of his assassination

Celem niniejszej pracy jest pokazanie wpływu relacji medialnych po zamachu na postrzega-nie Johna F. Kennedy’ego. Praca przybliża sylwetkę Prezydenta oraz jego prezydenturę. Następnie opisuje, jak historycznie rozwijał się amerykański system medialny. W rozdziale końcowym pokazane jest, jak prasa, radio oraz telewizja relacjonowały wydarzenia od przyjazdu JFK do Dallas i jego tragiczną śmierć, aż do jego państwowego pogrzebu w Waszyngtonie. Praca pokazuje, jaką rolę miały media w rozwoju wydarzeń po śmierci Prezydenta i jaki stworzyły wizerunek Johna F. Kennedy’ego.

The aim of this paper is to show the impact of media coverage after John F. Kennedy’s assassination on the perception of him. The thesis brings together the profile of the President and his presidency. It also touches the history of American media. The closing chapter shows how the press, radio and television covered the events from JFK’s arrival in Dallas and his tragic death, until his state funeral in Washington. The dissertation shows the role that media played in the turn of events after President’s death and how they changed the image of John F. Kennedy.
