Specyfika uwagi i decyzji w otyłości
Specifics of attention and decision-making in obesity
Dot - probe, Iowa Gambling Task, nagroda, skośność uwagi,
dot - probe, attentional bias, reward, Iowa Gambling Task
Badania te stanowią częściową replikację eksperymentów Shafrana i wsp.
The aim of this study was to establish the relation between obesity and attentional bias and sensitivity to reward and punishment and then comparing the results to the normal-weight group. This experiment is a partial replication of those of Shafran et al (2007) and Brogan at al (2010, 2011).Studied group consisted of 70 people, 35 obese (19 women and 16 men) and 35 of normal weight (18 women and 17 men). The first part was a modified dot – probe task. Participants were presented with a nutritional stimulus (photos) of negative (high-calorie) or positive (low-calorie) emotional validity. They were to react to a “X” probe presented after the stimuli. Next they were to complete the Iowa Gambling Task, which aim was to accumulate as much money as possible, without being informed about the existence of advantageous and disadvantageous decks. The result consisted of the relation of the amount of cards used from both sets and their ability to learn. The final stage was the Sensitivity to Punishment and Sensitivity to Reward Questionnaire by Tourrubii et al (2001)The results of the study confirmed the attentional bias for the negative and positive stimuli for the obese group and their higher sensitivity to gratification and reinforcement. Although the questionnaire did not show any higher sensitivity to punishment or reward.
