Evolutionary pressures of the human consciousness development and their effect on its structure

Celem niniejszej pracy jest próba odpowiedzi na pytania: ”W jaki sposób wyewoluowała ludzka świadomość?” oraz „Co sprawiło, że gatunek ludzki jest świadomy?”. Poniżej dokonana zostanie synteza uznanych teorii naukowych z dziedzin neurobiologii, psychologii ewolucyjnej i filozofii, których tematem jest świadomość. Przedstawiony zostanie podział świadomości na kolejne stadia ewolucyjne. Następnie, w oparciu o przegląd badań nad ludzką percepcją czasu, stworzona zostanie teoria łącząca świadomość fenomenalną z poczuciem czasu. Przedstawione zostaną wynikające z niej presje ewolucyjne, oraz możliwe aplikacje w dziedzinie kognitywistyki.

The goal of this paper is to answer the question: „How has human consciousness evloved?”. What made human species conscious? Below, there shall be a synthesis made of well regarded scientific theories from the fields of neurobiology, evolutionary psychology and philosophy, the topic of which is consciousness. There shall be presented a division of consciousness for consequent evolutionary stages. Next, based upon a review of studies performed in the field of human time perception, there will be founded a theory linking phenomenal consciousness with the sense of time. There shall be presented evolutionary pressures that come as an outcome of the theory, and possible applications of it.
