Cohabitation relationships as one of the alternative forms of married and family life

Głównym celem pracy jest ukazanie specyfiki związków kohabitacyjnych jako jednej z alternatywnych form życia małżeńsko – rodzinnego. Pierwszy rozdział stanowi wstęp do pracy oraz ukazuje jej założenia poznawcze. Kolejny rozdział jest poświęcony charakterystyce form życia małżeńsko – rodzinnego. Zawiera on opis sposobów definiowania rodziny oraz małżeństwa, a także prezentuje funkcje rodziny oraz specyfikę przeobrażeń w sferze życia małżeńsko – rodzinnego. Trzecia, zasadnicza część pracy stanowi szczegółowy opis zjawiska kohabitacji jako jednej z alternatywnych form życia małżeńsko – rodzinnego. Rozdział ten obejmuje wyjaśnienia terminologiczne, opis specyfiki funkcjonowania związków kohabitacyjnych w Polsce i na świecie. Rozdział trzeci zawiera również wybrane wyniki badań dotyczących społecznego odbioru kohabitacji. Zawarty jest w nim także opis sytuacji dziecka wychowywanego w związkach kohabitacyjnych. W zakończeniu przedstawione są wyniki badań dotyczących znaczenia i rozumienia rodziny przez pary żyjące w związkach kohabitacyjnych oraz wnioski z ustaleń poznawczych wraz z implikacjami jakie płyną dla praktyki pedagogicznej.

The main purpose of the work is to show the specificity of cohabitation relationships as one of the alternative forms of married and family life. The first chapter is an introduction to the work and shows its cognitive assumptions. The next chapter is devoted to the characteristics of marital and family life forms. It contains a description of the ways of defining family and marriage, as well as presenting family functions and the specificity of transformations in the sphere of married and family life. The third, fundamental part of the work is a detailed description of the phenomenon of cohabitation as one of the alternative forms of married and family life. This chapter includes terminological explanations, a description of the specificity of cohabitation associations in Poland and around the world. The third chapter also contains selected results of research on the social reception of cohabitation. It also includes a description of the situation of a child raised by cohabiting couples. In the summary, the results of research on the meaning and understanding of the family by couples living in cohabitation relationships and conclusions from cognitive findings together with the implications that flow for pedagogical practice are presented.
