Discrimination and violation of women's rights in today's Mexico

Głównym celem pracy jest poruszenie problemu łamania praw i dyskryminacji kobiet we współczesnym Meksyku. Analiza problemu powinna przybliżyć obecną sytuację Meksykanek oraz wykazać czynniki, które na nią wpływają. Na początku pracy, zilustrowano zmianę w postrzeganiu roli kobiety, zaczynając od okresu Azteków, na okresie konkwisty kończąc. Pod uwagę wzięto wpływ wzorców kulturowych na stereotypowy obraz dobrej żony i matki, bez większych praw do uczestnictwa w społeczeństwie. Nawiązano również do dysfunkcji państwa Meksyk odnośnie bezpieczeństwa publicznego jego obywatelek. Zwrócono także uwagę na wielość form przemocy oraz płaszczyzn na jakich dokonuje się dyskryminacja. Ważną kwestię w niniejszej pracy stanowi opis zjawiska kobietobójstwa zwanego feminicidio. Opisane zostały także najważniejsze inicjatywy, organizacje oraz instytucje, których celem jest polepszenie obecnej sytuacji kobiet. Ostatnim elementem jest analiza obecnych form prawnych, ustaw oraz konwencji, które powinny zapewnić bezpieczeństwo obywatelkom. Wykazane zostały liczne dysfunkcje organów ścigania oraz wymiaru sprawiedliwości, które umożliwiają szerzenie się bezkarności i przemocy.

The main point of this thesis is to touch on the outbreak of women's rights as well as their discrimination in the current Mexico. Analysis should focus on the present situation of the Mexican women, and it also should dispose of factors that influence the main topic.At the beginning of the thesis, change perception of role was shown, starting from the Aztec civilization Spanish conquest ends. Cultural patterns and their impact on the stereotype image of a good wife and good mother were taken into consideration. As the next step, malfunction of Mexico policy in the case of women safety was attached. Multiple forms of violence and discrimination popped out and during this topic feminicidio was introduced. During the thesis multiple reports, organizations and movements were described and their main point was to help the women situation to be better. The last element was about current country policy, analysis of the laws and regulations to keep Mexico citizens safe. At the last, multiple malfunctions of the safety organizations and the judiciary will be shown which at this moment allows violence and impunity to propagate.
