Celem mojej pracy jest usystematyzowanie informacji dostępnych na temat kultury hackerskiej. W świadomości społecznej funkcjonuje wiele stereotypów na ten temat, poddaje się ich ocenie, bez wnikania w motywację i analizę zasad, według których działają. Ponadto często nadużywa się pojęcia hacker, nazywając tak osoby, które z kulturą hackerską nie mają wiele wspólnego. Jest to spowodowane dużym zróżnicowaniem wewnątrz, kultury hackerskiej. Funkcjonują w niej skrajnie różne subkultury, które chciałbym zaprezentować i zarysować granicę podziału między nimi.W rozdziale pierwszym wyjaśniam w jakim ujęciu będę się posługiwał pojęciami kultura i subkultura, a także staram się przybliżyć wieloznaczność słowa hacker, które zmienia swoje znaczenie w zależności od kontekstu, w którym się pojawia. Chcę przedstawić oryginalne ramy tego pojęcia, w sposób w jaki rozumieją je sami zainteresowani.W kolejnym rozdziale opisuję historię rozwoju kultury hackerskiej. Wyznacza ona relację pomiędzy hackerami a władzą, a także relacje członków grupy względem samych siebie. Pokazuje także w jaki sposób zmieniało się samo użycie słowa hacker, jakich nabierało konotacji, a przede wszystkim przedstawia ewolucję członków kultury hackerskiej od lat 50. po czasy obecne. W trzecim rozdziale opisuję elementy wyznaczające granice kultury hackerskiej. Przede wszystkim jest to system norm i wartości wynikający z tzw. etyki hackerskiej, wypracowanej na przestrzeni lat. Poza tym ważną rolę odgrywają tu czynniki składające się na światopogląd hackerów, przez które hackerzy podejmują działalność. Mam tu na myśli kulturę daru jako główny paradygmat kultury hackerskiej. W ostatnim rozdziale przedstawiam szereg subkultur na jaki dzieli się środowisko hackerów. Pokazuję odmiany grup, które są wyróżnianie ze względu na: motywację (czyli cel w jakim wykorzystują hackerzy komputery i technologię), a także poziom umiejętności poszczególnych hackerów. Wyróżniam tutaj także subkultury na granicy kultury hackerskiej, kwalifikujące się do niej jedynie częściowo - ich przedstawiciele nie są hackerami w pełni.

The aim of my work is to systematize the information about the hacker culture. The public opinion is aware of many stereotypes about hackers, which are subjected to their opinion, without going into the motivation and analysis of the ways in which they operate. Moreover, often term "hacker" is overused to describe people that do not have much in common with hacker culture. This is the reseult of the great diversity in the hacker culture itself - radically different subculture are present within it. I would like to present and outline the border division between them. In the first chapter I explain terms: culture and subculture, and try to explain the ambiguity of the word hacker, which changes its meaning depending on the context in which it appears. I want to present the original framework of this concept in the way that hackers use.In the next chapter I describe the history of the development of hacker culture. It sets out the relationship between hackers and power, as well as the relationship of members to themselves. It also shows how the word hacker has changed in time, and it represensts the evolution of members of the hacker culture from the 50s till today.In the third chapter I describe the elements defining boundaries of hacker culture. First of all, it is a system of norms and values ​​resulting from the so-called hacker ethic, developed over the years. Also important factor is the gift which is the main paradigm of the hacker culture. In the last chapter I present a number of subcultures in which the hacker environment is divided to. I present a variety of groups which are subdivided according to diffrent factors, such as: the motivation (or purpose for which hackers use computers and technology), and the skill level of individual hackers. There are also subcultures on 'the borders' of the hacker culture because their representatives are not fully hackers.
