Abstract in English
16th and 17th c. dedication, as a paratextual genre, is a carefully constructed whole. An important role is played in it by metatext and its verbal and extra-verbal (graphic and typographic) indices, such as various fonts and sizes or the use of punctuation. Metatext is regarded in the present paper as a mirror of the text-creating process which organizes the transmission and reception of the utterance.
