Egyptian Mastabas I-III dynasties. An attempt to compare

Poniższa praca ma za zadanie przedstawić problematykę mastab egipskich, wybudowanych w czasach pierwszych, trzech dynastii. Jej głównym celem jest zarysowanie rozwoju tego typu grobowców, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem opisu ich poszczególnych elementów architektonicznych oraz rozplanowania wewnętrznego. Podjęto w niej także próbę wykazania różnic pomiędzy mastabami, jakie zachodziły z biegiem rozwoju Egiptu jako zorganizowanego organizmu państwowego. Zawiera także szereg informacji dotyczących rysu historycznego omawianych dynastii, właścicieli grobów, a także królewskiej architektury grobowej, która miała znaczny wpływ na konstruowanie prywatnych założeń. Dodatkowym zadaniem tej pracy jest przedstawienie problemu dotyczącego genezy mastaby, a w szczególności początków ich zewnętrznej, niszowej dekoracji, który to aspekt ma fundamentalne znacznienie dla badań nad początkami monumentalnej, egipskiej architektury.

This thesis aims to present the issue of Egyptian mastabas, which were built during the first three dynasties. It's main purpose is to outline the development of this type of tombs, with particular reference to the description of the various, architectural elements and the interlan layout. It was taken as an attempt to demonstrate the differences between Mastabas that have occured over the development of Egypt as an organized state. It also contains various information about the historical trait of these dynasties, the owners of the tombs, as well as the royal funerary architecture, which had a significant impact on the construction of private buildings. Another task of this thesis is to present the problem of the origin of mastabas, in particular their external, niche decoration, which is a fundamental aspect for reserch on the beginning of monumental, egyptian architecture.
