W pracy licencjackiej „La Grande Bretèche Honoré de Balzaca, czyli o sztuce budowania napięcia w opowiadaniu" zajmuję się opowiadaniem stanowiącym część Autre étude de femme (polski tytuł - Drugie studium kobiety). W pierwszym rozdziale prezentuję analizę strukturalną i narratologiczną dzieła. W drugim staram się dokonać interpretacji opowiadania i ukazać w jaki sposób budowane jest napięcie. Historia La Grande Bretèche przedstawiona jest zgodnie z kolejnością rozmów z osobami, które prezentują jej fragmenty z różnych punktów widzenia. Autor nie przedstawia wszystkich szczegółów opowieści. Według mnie wymusza to pracę czytelnika, który musi użyć wyobraźni aby połączyć elementy historii, podążając śladami poszukiwań Narratora. Dzięki zgrabnemu prowadzeniu narracji odbiorca do samego końca opowiadania jest trzymany w napięciu.

In the bachelor thesis: "La Grande Bretèche by Honoré de Balzac or the art of suspense in a story" I write about the story which make part of Autre étude de femme. In the first chapter, I present a structural and narrative analysis. In the second chapter, I try to interpret the story and to show how the suspense is rising. The history of La Grande Bretèche is arranged in order of the conversations with people who represent the fragments from different points of view. The author don’t provide all the details of the story which force the imagination of the reader who has to combine the elements of history following the road that lead the Narrator to the revealing of the history. Due to narrative solutions, the reader is held in tension to the end of the story.

Dans le mémoire de licence : « La Grande Bretèche d’Honoré de Balzac ou l’art de la tension dans le récit » je m’occupe du récit imbriqué dans l’Autre étude de femme. Dans le premier chapitre, je fais une analyse structurale et narratologique de l’œuvre. Dans le deuxième, j’essaie d’interpréter le récit et de montrer la gradation de la tension dramatique. Je constate que l’histoire de La Grande Bretèche est bien structurée grâce au procédé des récits emboîtés. Les narrations dans Autre étude de femme d’Honoré de Balzac sont rangées selon le degré de la cruauté et les conversations qui présentent l’histoire de La Grande Bretèche sont rapportées chronologiquement. Cela permet de graduer la tension dramatique. Les points de vue limités et des zones d’ombre forcent le travail du lecteur qui doit joindre des éléments du puzzle, en suivant la pérégrination du Narrateur, et qui jusqu’à la fin de son aventure est tenu en haleine par le conteur habile.
