Implementation of PjBL in archaeology teaching : a case study

W roku akademickim 2020/21 przeprowadziłam zajęcia dla studentów IIIr. archeologii, studia licencjackie, z zastosowaniem metody PjBL(Project Based Learning), których zadaniem było wykonanie przez uczestników kursu projektu polegającego na kompletnym zaplanowaniu terenowej ekspedycji archeologicznej. Projekty były realizowane przez trzy grupy studentów w cyklu trzech spotkań po dwie godziny zajęciowe, z powodu pandemii wyłącznie w trybie zdalnym, ale synchronicznie.

W tekście przedstawiono krótki opis samej metody oraz prezentację trybu przeprowadzonych zajęć wraz z ich podsumowaniem i próbą oceny potencjału metody PjBL w realiach dydaktyki archeologii oraz innych nauk prowadzących badania terenowe.

In academic year 2020/21, I carried out a series of classes for 3rd year bachelor students of archaeology with application of the PjBL (Project Based Learning) method. The final result of the classes was a project of a complete archaeological field expedition developed by the students. The projects were created by three groups of students during three subsequent meetings two lesson hours each, which because of the Covid-19 pandemic were realized remotedly but synchronically.

The text presents a short description of the method itself and a full presentation of the classes curriculum with their summary. An attempt was made to judge the PjBL method potencial for archaeology teaching and other disciplines, which conduct field research.
