The role of voluntary service in civil society

Celem pracy jest wskazanie istotnej roli wolontariatu w kształtowaniu społeczeństwa obywatelskiego, a szczególnie postaw obywatelskich studentów krakowskich uczelni wyższych. W pracy przedstawiono charakterystykę pojęć wolontariatu i społeczeństwa obywatelskiego, a także analizę wyników badań. Badanie wykazało, że występuje zależność między aktywnym udziałem w wolontariacie, a jego postrzeganiem, deklarowanym zaufaniem społecznym i gotowością do pomocy innym. Poza tym unaoczniło przynależność organizacyjną studentów krakowskich uczelni i ich postawy obywatelskie.

The aim of this thesis is to identify the important role of voluntary service in civil society, especially the active civic attitudes of Cracow university students. The study presents the characteristics of the concepts of voluntary service and civil society, as well as the analysis of research results. The study showed that there is a relationship between active participation in volunteer work, and perception of voluntary service, declared public trust and willingness to help others. In addition, the organizational affiliation of students Cracow universities and their active civic attitudes was explored.
