Educational migration of Polish students: cultural integration in the context of student mobility programmes on the example of the Erasmus+ programme and the exchange of Polish students to Spain

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie zjawiska migracji edukacyjnej oraz tego jak wpływa ona na proces integracji kulturowej w oparciu o grupę polskich studentów. W pracy zdefiniowano pojęcie migracji edukacyjnej oraz jej ewolucję ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Polski. Scharakteryzowano flagowy program unijny - Erasmus+ oraz przeanalizowano dane statystyczne. Ostatnie dwa rozdziały w pracy stanowią studium przypadku, którego celem było zbadanie sposobu integracji polskich studentów podczas wymiany edukacyjnej w Hiszpanii oraz zaangażowania polskiego stowarzyszenia Sami Swoi w proces integracji kulturowej. Badanie przeprowadzono w formie internetowej ankiety ze studentami oraz kwestionariusza z pytaniami otwartymi skierowanego do prezeski stowarzyszenia.

The aim of this paper is to present the phenomenon of educational migration and how it affects the process of cultural integration based on a group of Polish students. The paper defines the concept of educational migration and its evolution with a special focus on Poland. The EU's flagship programme, Erasmus+, is characterised and statistical data analysed. The last two chapters in the thesis are a case study to investigate the way in which Polish students integrate during an educational exchange in Spain and the involvement of the Polish association Sami Swoi in the process of cultural integration. The study was conducted in the form of an online survey with students and a questionnaire with open-ended questions addressed to the president of the association.
