Assessment of financial condition and financial results of the PGNiG SA Capital Group

Niniejsza praca pokazuje użyteczność sprawozdań finansowych w kontekście analizy finansowej. Ocena sytuacji majątkowo- finansowej spółki PGNiG S.A. możliwa była dzięki wnikliwie przeprowadzonej analizie finansowej. Za lata obserwacji przyjęto okres 2013-2016, w którym badano działalność podmiotu. Główne źródło do napisania pracy stanowiły obszerne informacje zawarte w literaturze przedmiotu, ustawa o rachunkowości, międzynarodowe standardy sprawozdawczości finansowej oraz dane zaczerpnięte z raportów spółki i skonsolidowanego sprawozdania finansowego Grupy Kapitałowej PGNiG S.A. W pracy ukazano analizę sprawozdania finansowego PGNiG S.A. Wyniki wskazały, iż spółka znajduje się w dobrej kondycji finansowej. W ostatnim analizowanym roku Grupa Kapitałowa PGNiG S.A. osiągnęła najwyższy poziom wyniku finansowego co świadczy o tendencji rozwojowej firmy. Grupa Kapitałowa nie boryka się również z problemami zadłużeniami oraz nie posiada problemów z płynnością finansową, co ukazuje stan inwestycji krótkoterminowych utrzymujących się na stabilnym, wysokim poziomie.

This master thesis presents the usefulness of financial statements as well as the accuracy of the data contained in the financial analysis report. The evaluation of the financial position of PGNiG S.A. was possible thanks to a thorough methodology of the financial analysis. The years of observations were taken from 2013 to 2016, when the subject was studied. The main reference of Whiting was the extensive information contained In the literature books, The Accounting Act, The International Financial Reporting Standards and the data taken from the company’s reports and the consolidated financial statements of the PGNiG Group S.A. The master thesis presents the analysis of the financial statements of PGNiG S.A. The results presents that the company was in a good financial condition. In the last analyzed year the Group PGNiG S.A. it reached the highest level which presents the development trend of the company. The Capital Group is also struggling with debt problems and has no liquidity problems. It presents the state of short-term investments stable at a high level.
