Jews and Israel. Images of the nations in selected works of arabic literature

Celem niniejszej pracy pt. „Żydzi a Izrael. Obrazy narodów w wybranych dziełach literatury arabskiej" jest zanalizowanie obrazów Żydów oraz Izraela ukazanych w literaturze arabskiej. Analiza tematu jest oparta na porównaniu następujących powieści: ʿĀ’id ‘ilā Ḥayfā - Ġassāna Kanafānīego, Niezwykłe okoliczności zniknięcia niejakiego Saida Abu an-Nahsa z rodu Optysymistów - Imīla Ḥabībīego, Ḥāris at-Tabġ - ʿAlīego Badera oraz Qulūb munhaka: al-muslim al-yahūdy - Kamāla Ruḥayyima. W pracy zanalizowane zostały relacje pomiędzy żydowskimi bohaterami, jak również ich relacje z sąsiadami i osobami innych wyznań. Praca ukazuje także obraz Izraela oraz pokrótce historię ludności żydowskiej w trzech krajach: Palestynie, Iraku oraz Egipcie.

The purpose of this work entitled "Jews and Israel. Images of the nations in selected works of arabic literature" is to analyze the images of Jews and Israel presented in arabic literature. The topic analysis is based on comparison of the following novels: ʿĀ’id ‘ilā Ḥayfā by Ġassān Kanafānī, The Secret Life of Saeed: The Pessoptimist by Imīl Ḥabībī, Ḥāris at-Tabġ by ʿAlī Bader and Qulūb munhaka: al-muslim al-yahūdy by Kamāl Ruḥayyim. The work contains the analysis of relations between Jewish characters, as well as their relationship with neighbors and people of different religions. It also shows the image of Israel and pertain briefly the history of Jewish population in three countries: Palestine, Iraq and Egypt.
