Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy są strategie i techniki tłumaczeniowe wykorzystywane do tłumaczenia nazw własnych. Nazwy własne stanowią ogromną część każdej kultury, są z nią bezpośrednio związane i nie można ich od siebie oddzielić. Sprawiają one tłumaczom wiele trudności, które zostaną przedstawione bardziej szczegółowo w niniejszej pracy. Celem pracy jest pokazanie, jakie strategie i techniki tłumaczeniowe są wykorzystywane w przekładzie nazw własnych występujących w powieści „Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban“ na język niemiecki i polski.
The objects of investigation of the present dissertation are translation strategies and translation techniques of proper nouns. Proper nouns are a huge part of any culture; they are directly connected with the culture and cannot be separated from it. They cause many difficulties for translators, which is presented in more details in the present research. The main aim of the dissertation is to prove which translation strategies and translation techniques are used to translate proper nouns from the novel "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in German and Polish.
Der Untersuchungsgegenstand der vorliegenden Diplomarbeit bilden Übersetzungsstrategien und Übersetzungstechniken von Eigennamen. Eigennamen sind ein riesiger Teil jeder Kultur, sind direkt mit der Kultur verbunden und können davon nicht abgetrennt werden. Sie bereiten den Übersetzern viele Schwierigkeiten, was in der vorliegenden Untersuchung näher dargestellt wird. Das Ziel der Untersuchung ist nachzuweisen, welche Übersetzungsstrategien und Übersetzungstechniken verwendet werden, um Eigennamen aus dem Roman „Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban“ auf Deutsch und Polnisch wiederzugeben.
