Niniejsza praca magisterska koncertuje się na przekładzie debiutanckiego tomiku wierszy greckiej poetki Kateriny Gogou (1949–1993) i próbie ich odczytania. Poetka tworzy wiersze w trudnym czasie prawicowych rządów junty wojskowej (1967) a wydarzeniami na Politechnice Ateńskiej (1973). Tomik Trzy kliknięcia na lewo ukazał się w roku 1978 i stał się wielkim sukcesem w Grecji. Podjęta w pracy próba interpretacji wierszy, ma na celu odczytanie ich w kontekście historycznym, także w oparciu o wydarzenia istotne jedynie w lokalnej, greckiej skali oraz z perspektywy osobistej biografii autorki, osadzonej w nurcie écriture feminine. W wierszach znajdziemy odniesienia intertekstualne do dzieł Marksa i Engelsa, a także do pism feministek drugiej fali – wśród nich szczególne miejsce znajduje Sheila Rowbotham, co zostało poddane analizie. Poezja Gogou obfituje w motywy rozczarowania polityką, niezgody na konsumpcjonizm i zapomnienie o wartościach czyniących z nas ludzi.
This thesis takes as its focus the translation and a reading of a debut volume by Greek poet Katerina Gogou (1949-1993). It was written during the tumultuous time of the military junta rule (1967) and the Athens Polytechnic uprising (1973). Three Clicks to the Left, first published in 1978, resonated widely in the country. Its interpretation attempted here aims both to place them in that broader historical context and in the context of events relevant only locally in Greece, the author’s individual biography and her position in the wider écriture feminine. Since her poetry contains inter-textual references (lub cross-references) to the works of Marx and Engels, and the writings of second-wave feminists, among whom Sheila Rowbotham features prominently — these are being explored here. Gogou's volume abounds in themes of disillusionment with politics, dissent from consumerism, and, even more critically, from the abandonment of the values that constitute our humanity.
