Relations between RF and PRC

Celem pracy jest analiza stosunków między Federacją Rosyjską a Chińską Republiką Ludową. Wybór tematu podyktowany został przekonaniem, że stosunki między jednymi z tzw. mocarstw regionalnych są tematem bardzo ważnym, choć w literaturze polskiej niezbyt popularnym. Aby w jak najpełniejszym świetle przedstawić stosunki między oboma państwami, w pierwszym rozdziale opisane zostały stosunki rosyjsko-chińskie od momentu nawiązania pierwszych kontaktów dyplomatycznych aż do rozpadu Związku Radzieckiego. Rozdział ten stanowi niezwykle ważną bazę historyczną dla dalszych rozważań. W drugim rozdziale natomiast, przedstawiono uwarunkowania stosunków między Rosją a Chinami na przestrzeni ostatnich dwudziestu lat, co pozwala lepiej zrozumieć miejsce obu państw we współczesnym świecie, ich atuty oraz słabości. Rozdział trzeci jest już właściwym opisem stosunków politycznych i militarnych między FR a ChRL. Zawarto w nim informacje na temat odbudowy dobrosąsiedzkich stosunków oraz kolejnych kroków w kierunku zacieśniania współpracy. W czwartym rozdziale opisane zostały stosunki gospodarcze między oboma państwami – wymiana handlowa, przepływ kapitału i siły roboczej, a także turystyka. W rozdziale piątym przedstawiono z kolei Rosję i Chiny w ramach struktur współpracy wielostronnej, które oprócz obszarów do współpracy, stwarzają także pola do rywalizacji między oboma państwami.

The aim of the study is to analyze the relations between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. The choice of the subjet was dictated by the conviction that the relationship between the so-called regional powers is a very important subject, although not very popular in Polish literature. To get the fullest light of present relations between the two countries, the first chapter describes the Russo-Chinese relations since the establishment of the first diplomatic contacts until the disintegration of the Soviet Union. This chapter is an extremely important historical basis for further considerations. The second chapter presents the determinants of the relations between Russia and China over the past twenty years, what gives a better understanding of the place of the two countries in the modern world, their strengths and weaknesses. The third chapter is an appropriate description of the political and military relations between the RF and the PRC. It includes information on the restoration of good-neighborly relations, and the next steps towards closer cooperation. The fourth chapter describes the economic relations between the two countries - trade, capital and labor flows, as well as tourism. Chapter five, in turn, shows Russia and China within the framework of multilateral cooperation, which creates not only areas of cooperation, but also fields of the rivalry between the two countries.
