First love in the shadow of social exclusion. The novel „Pioneer Summer” by Katerina Silvanova and Elena Malisova

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie realiów życia osób LGBTQ+ we współczesnej Rosji. Istotną część rozważań poświęcono powieści „Lato w pionierskiej chuście” Kateriny Silwanowej i Jeleny Malisowej, aby ukazać, w jaki sposób obecność wątków homoseksualnych w literaturze może przyczyniać się do zmniejszenia poczucia wykluczenia. Rozdział pierwszy poświęcono politycznym i społecznym uwarunkowaniom życia osób LGBT w Rosji. Rozdział drugi obejmuje analizę i interpretację powieści „Lato w pionierskiej chuście”, z uwzględnieniem okoliczności jej powstania, charakterystyki głównych bohaterów oraz konstrukcji świata przedstawionego. Zakończenie stanowi podsumowanie przeprowadzonych rozważań oraz prezentację wynikających z nich wniosków.

The purpose of this thesis is to present the realities of LGBTQ+ people's lives in contemporary Russia. A significant part of the discussion is devoted to the novel „Pioneer Summer” by Katerina Silvanova and Elena Malisova in order to demonstrate how the presence of homosexual themes in literature may contribute to reducing feelings of exclusion. The first chapter focuses on the political and social conditions affecting the lives of LGBT people in Russia. The second chapter provides an analysis and interpretation of „Pioneer Summer”, with particular attention to the circumstances of its creation, the depiction of the main characters, and the construction of the fictional world. The final section summarizes the discussion and presents the conclusions drawn from it.
