"Theatre is the evil" - media narrations about theatre scandals in modern Poland (2013-2016) in the background of European examples of theatre scandal

Celem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest stworzenie katalogu tematów oraz środków przy wykorzystaniu których możliwe byłoby wykreowanie skandalu teatralnego w oparciu o przedstawienie teatralne (do którego premiery nie musi dojść). Praca składa się ze wstępu, rozdziału teoretycznego, części badawczej (2 rozdziały) oraz zakończenia. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono zagadnienia dotyczące zjawiska skandalu w ujęciu interdyscyplinarnym (H.M Kepplinger, J. Thompson, R. Girard i in.) komunikowania i mediów (między innymi: model komunikowania rytualnego i wspólnoty doświadczeń, hipoteza agenda setting, teoria oprawy) oraz teatru (społeczno-kulturowa historia teatru, teatr jako medium) Główną partię pracy stanowi analiza jakościowa medialnych procesów skandalizacji 6 spektakli (m.in Jana Klaty, Olivera Frljicia, Romeo Castellucciego). Kluczowe wątki pracy ogniskują się wokół polaryzacji poglądów, postaw publicystów wobec spektaklu i jego recepcji jako skandalu oraz udziału aktorów politycznych w procesie skandalizacji. Pokazuję również, że spektakl teatralny, jak również narracje tworzone w mediach na jego temat, mogą ujawniać konflikty społeczne, polityczne czy religijne w danym społeczeństwie.

The purpose of this thesis is to create a directory of topics and measures by means of which it would be possible to create a theatrical scandal based on the theatre (for which no release has to come). The work consists of a preface, theoretical chapter, research parts (two chapters) and the end. In the theoretical part describes considerations for the phenomenon of the scandal in terms of interdisciplinary (H. M. Kepplinger, J. Thompson, R. Girard and others) communication and media (inter alia: model communication ritual, Schramm and Moles models of communication, the hypothesis agenda setting, theory of framing) and theater (socio-cultural history of theatre, theatre as a medium) the main labour party is a qualitative analysis of media scandalisation processes of six performances (for example Jan Klata, Oliver Frljic, Romeo Castellucci). Key threads work on around a polarization of views, attitudes of columnists to performance and its reception as a scandal and political actors in the process of scandalisation. Show also that the theatre, as well as the narratives created in the media about it, can reveal the social, political or religious conflicts in a given society.
