Social and educational functioning of the adolescents deprived of natural parental care

Social orphanhood has become one of the main problems in the contemporary world. The number of families being unable to take appropriate care of children grows every year. That is why more and more young people get to educational outposts.The aim of this dissertation is to present the issue of young people, their functions in the society, their stay in a children’s house and therapeutic support given to the children being deprived of natural parental care.The first part of this dissertation presents some notions concerning a family and factors causing a family disorganization.Children’s homes in the system of social security as well as the examples of the children situations in the light of various publications have been presented.The second part is devoted to the issue of social and educational functioning of the adolescents. Social support in a preventive and therapeutic perspective and some factors influencing children’s role in the society were also described. The third part presents the research methodology – the aim, certain problems and hypothesis as well as methods and research techniques. There is also a description of the place, the organization and the following stages of the research.The next two chapters are devoted to the results obtained during the research concerning 30 pupils aged 13 to 19 which was organized in one of the child’s house. The social situation of the adolescents and their functioning in the social and educational roles were described. Self evaluation and social solitude. Conclusions of the empirical research were are enclosed in the final chapter of my dissertation.

Sieroctwo społeczne to jedno z głównych problemów współczesnego świata. Przybywa rodzin, które nie są wstanie odpowiednio zaopiekować się swoimi dziećmi. Dlatego coraz więcej młodych ludzi trafia do placówek opiekuńczo – wychowawczych. Niniejsza praca ma na celu przybliżenie problemu funkcjonowania młodzieży w sytuacji pobytu w Domu Dziecka oraz określenie udzielanego wsparcia terapeutycznego dorastającym pozbawionym naturalnej opieki rodzicielskiej.W pierwszej części pracy zebrano wiadomości odnośnie podstawowych pojęć dotyczących rodziny i czynników, które przyczyniają się do jej dezorganizacji. Następnie opisano domy dziecka w systemie opieki społecznej oraz sytuacje wychowanków domu dziecka w świetle literatury przedmiotu. Część druga pracy dotyczy funkcjonowania społecznego i edukacyjnego adolescentów. Opisano wybrane czynniki wpływające na pełnienie ról społecznych, a także, jakiego wsparcia profilaktyczno-terapeutycznego młodzi ludzie mogą oczekiwać od osób i instytucji do tego powołanych.Trzeci rozdział pracy opisuje metodologię badań, czyli: cel i przedmiot badań, problemy i hipotezy oraz metody i techniki badawcze. Scharakteryzowano również teren, organizację oraz przebieg badań.Dwa kolejne rozdziały dotyczą wyników uzyskanych podczas badań przeprowadzonych wśród 30-tu uczniów Domu Dziecka. Zbadano sytuację społeczno-prawną wychowanków oraz ich funkcjonowanie w rolach społecznych i edukacyjnych, następnie ich samoocenę i poczucie osamotnienia społecznego.Pracę kończą wnioski i uogólnienia z przeprowadzonych badań empirycznych.
