„Do diaska!” Analiza tłumaczenia idiolektu w serialu “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza tłumaczenia idiolektów dwóch głównych postaci z serialu "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Analiza jest przeprowadzona z zastosowaniem metodologii Ramos Pinto, która wyróżnia strategie zachowania i neutralizacji zróżnicowania językowego. Pierwszy rozdział skupia się na zagadnieniu przekładu audiowizualnego, zawiera definicję terminu oraz rys historyczny rozwoju tej dyscypliny. Omówione zostają również główne rodzaje przekładu audiowizualnego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem podpisów. Drugi rozdział poświęcony jest różnorodności językowej oraz idiolektowi, jego funkcji, trudności w tłumaczeniu i możliwych strategiach przekładowych. W trzecim rozdziale zaprezentowany zostaje serial "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," główni bohaterowie oraz ich idiolekty. Następnie analizie zostaje poddany przekład idiolektów. Oryginalne dialogi są porównywane z podpisami w języku polskim, w celu sprawdzenia czy cechy indywidualnego języka postaci zostały zachowane oraz czy zastosowane strategie przekładowe prowadzą do zmian w kreacji wizerunku postaci.

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the translation of idiolects of two major characters from the show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." The analysis is conducted by applying the methodology of Ramos Pinto, who singles out the strategies of preservation and neutralization of linguistic variation. The first chapter is concerned with the topic of Audiovisual Translation, a definition of the term, a historical outline of the development of this form of translation and its major types, with a particular emphasis on subtitling. The second chapter aims to present the issue of language variation, focusing on idiolect, its function, difficulties in translation and possible strategies implemented in its rendering. The third chapter introduces the show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," devoting space mainly to the description of the major characters and their individual ways of speaking. Subsequently, the original quotes from the series are compared with Polish subtitles in order to investigate whether the elements of the idiolects are preserved and whether the strategies applied in the translation lead to shifts in the image of the characters.
