City in the work of the Kino group

Niniejsza praca licencjacka poświęcona jest miastu w twórczości grupy Kino. Cel pracy to analiza wybranych utworów zespołu, które najlepiej obrazują miejską przestrzeń. Chcę zbadać w jaki sposób artysta ją kreuje, na jakie elementy zwraca uwagę i jak miasto wpływa na stworzony przez niego podmiot liryczny. Praca składa się ze wstępu, dwóch rozdziałów i zakończenia. Rozdział pierwszy zawiera trzy podrozdziały. Na początku wymieniam najważniejsze wydarzenia, jakie miały wpływ na życie radzieckiego społeczeństwa lat siedemdziesiątych i osiemdziesiątych. Następnie pokrótce wyjaśniam, w jaki sposób muzyka rockowa trafiła do ZSRR. Ponieważ miasto w twórczości grupy Kino to zazwyczaj Leningrad, zwracam uwagę na najważniejsze wydarzenia z historii tej metropolii. Kolejny podrozdział stanowi chronologiczne podsumowanie historii grupy Kino oraz opis życiowej drogi Wiktora Coja. W ostatnim podrozdziale wspominam o różnych motywach miasta w literaturze. Drugi rozdział pracy jest próbą analizy wybranych utworów grupy Kino. Przyglądam się temu, jak zima wpływa na obraz miejskiej przestrzeni. Następnie charakteryzuję nocne przedstawienie miasta oraz szukam możliwych cech wspólnych lirycznego ja wykreowanego przez Coja i bohaterów prozy Fiodora Dostojewskiego. Również omawiam poszczególne elementy miasta, obecne w tekstach Wiktora, takie jak środki transportu i mieszkania. Z mojej analizy wynika, że utwory grupy Kino zawierają elementy tekstu petersburskiego. Podmiot liryczny trwa w złożonej relacji z Leningradem – czuje do niego miłość, ale jednocześnie wie, iż jest to miejsce niebezpieczne i destrukcyjne. Przestrzeń miejska w wybranych tekstach została zaprezentowana przede wszystkim przez pryzmat emocji i wrażliwości osoby mówiącej. Piosenki Coja pozostają aktualne po dziś dzień. To dzieła, które można interpretować na różne sposoby, w zależności od naszych indywidualnych doświadczeń i emocjonalności.

This bachelor's thesis is devoted to the city in the works of the Kino group. The aim of the work is to analyze selected songs by the band that best illustrate urban space. I want to examine how the artist creates it, what elements he pays attention to and how the city influences lyrical subject. The work consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter contains three subchapters. First of all, I list the most important events that influenced the life of Soviet society in the 1970s and 1980s. Then I briefly explain how rock music appeared in the USSR. Since the city in the work of the Kino group is usually Leningrad, I draw attention to the most important events in the history of this metropolis. The next subchapter is a chronological summary of the history of the Kino and a description of Viktor Tsoi's life path. In the last section, I mention various motifs of the city in literature. The second chapter of the work is an attempt to analyze selected songs by the Kino group. I look at how winter affects the image of urban space. Then I characterize the image of the city at night and search for possible common features of the lyrical subject by Tsoi and the heroes of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's prose. I also discuss individual elements of the city that are present in Viktor's texts, such as means of transport and apartments. My analysis shows that the songs of the Kino group contain elements of the petersburg text. The lyrical subject has a complex relationship with Leningrad - he feels love for it, but at the same time he knows that it is a dangerous and destructive place. Urban space in selected texts was presented primarily through the prism of the subject’s emotions and sensitivity. Tsoi’s songs remain relevant to this day. These are works that can be interpreted in different ways, depending on our individual experiences and emotionality.
