Language Attitudes and Ideologies regarding Quechua in Lima Metropolitan Area

Sytuacja socjolingwistyczna obszaru metropolitalnego Limy jest fascynującym polem do badania postaw oraz ideologii językowych. Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej jest zbadanie ogólnej postawy językowej mieszkańców Limy, którzy nie są językoznawcami, wobec języków keczua i ich użytkowników. Ponadto został przeanalizowany wpływ dominujących ideologii językowych występujących w Peru na wiedzę o rodzinie językowej keczua. W pierwszym rozdziale wyjaśnione zostały kluczowe kwestie językowe, współistnienie języka hiszpańskiego oraz języków keczua w Peru na przestrzeni dziejów, jak również obecna sytuacja keczua. Rozdział drugi, tworzący ramy teoretyczne, dotyczy definicji ideologii i postaw językowych. W trzecim rozdziale wyniki ankiety zostały poddane dogłębnej analizie uwzględniając komentarze respondentów.

The sociolinguistic situation of the Lima Metropolitan Area is a fascinating field for the investigation of language attitudes and ideologies. The purpose of this paper is to explore what is the general linguistic attitude of non-linguistic Lima residents about Quechua and its speakers. In addition, it is analyzed how the predominant linguistic ideologies in Peru impact on the knowledge regarding the Quechua linguistic family. In the first chapter, fundamental linguistic questions are explained, as well as the coexistence of Spanish and Quechua in Peru throughout history and the current situation of Quechua is exposed. The second chapter, forming the theoretical framework, addresses the definition of linguistic ideologies and attitudes. In the third chapter, the results of the survey are analyzed in depth with the support of the respondents' comments.

La situación sociolingüística del área metropolitana de Lima es un campo fascinante para la investigación de las actitudes y las ideologías lingüísticas. El propósito del presente trabajo es explorar cuál es la actitud lingüística general de los limeños no lingüistas acerca del quechua y sus hablantes. Además, se analiza cómo las ideologías lingüísticas predominantes en el territorio peruano impactan en el conocimiento referente a la familia lingüística quechua. En el primer capítulo se explican cuestiones lingüísticas fundamentales, se expone la coexistencia del castellano y quechua en Perú a lo largo de la historia y también la situación del quechua en la actualidad. El segundo capítulo, conformando el marco teórico, aborda la definición de las ideologías y las actitudes lingüísticas. En el tercer capítulo se analizan con profundidad los resultados de la encuesta con el apoyo de los comentarios de los encuestados.
