Social relations in the area of intensive suburbanization on the example of Świątniki Górne municipality

Suburbanizacja jest procesem nasilającym się w Polsce od lat 90. XX w., obecnie charakteryzuje się bardzo dużą dynamiką. Ludność migruje zarówno z dużych, jak i średnich miast do ich stref podmiejskich. Proces skutkuje przeobrażeniem podlegających mu obszarów (stref podmiejskich) na wielu różnych płaszczyznach. Jedną z nich są przemiany społeczne, wynikające z napływu nowych mieszkańców, na tereny zamieszkiwane dotychczas przez ludność wiejską. Odmienność stylu życia i wyznawanych wartości wpływa na relacje społeczne między tymi dwoma grupami. Celem pracy jest określenie procesu kształtowania się relacji między ludnością miejscową a napływową na tle zagospodarowania przestrzeni w gminie Świątniki Górne, należącej do strefy podmiejskiej Krakowa. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazują na dualizm charakteru relacji społecznych występujących na badanym obszarze – obojętność, cechująca zarówno mieszkańców napływowych i rdzennych oraz niechęć, cechująca głównie mieszkańców rdzennych, wynikająca zazwyczaj ze stereotypów.

Suburbanization has been a growing process in Poland since the 1990s and is currently characterized by very high dynamics. People are migrating from both large and medium-sized cities to their suburban areas. This process results in the transformation of these areas (suburban zones) on many different levels. One of these levels is social transformation, stemming from the influx of new residents into areas previously inhabited by rural populations. The difference in lifestyle and values affects social relations between these two groups. The aim of this study is to determine the process of shaping relationships between native and incoming populations against the background of spatial development in the Świątniki Górne municipality, which belongs to the suburban zone of Kraków. The results of the conducted research indicate a dual nature of social relations in the studied area – indifference, characteristic of both incoming and native residents, and reluctance, mainly characteristic of native residents, usually resulting from stereotypes.
