The Great Wall of China - analysis of the development of structures from the first fortifications to complex defense systems.

Niniejsza praca opisuje początki Wielkiego Muru Chińskiego oraz jego koniec w okresie panowania dynastii Ming. Dodatkowo przytacza tło historyczne, towarzyszące rozwojowi fortyfikacji. Jej celem jest porównanie początkowych oraz końcowych etapów wznoszenia murów oraz próba udowodnienia, iż wydarzenia historyczne, a także sytuacja polityczna, panująca w trakcie panowania omawianych dynastii miała wpływ na rozwój struktur Wielkiego Muru Chińskiego. Pierwsza część pracy skupia się na omówieniu sytuacji politycznej i tła historycznego pierwszych dynastii oraz najwcześniejszych murów, następnie przytacza powyższe zagadnienia z dynastii Ming i na końcu skupia się na analizie oraz porównaniu założeń z obu okresów, które umożliwia stwierdzenie, że wskazane czynniki miały wpływ na rozwój fortyfikacji.

This dissertation describes the beginnings of the Great Wall of China and its end during the Ming Dynasty. In addition, it cites the historical background accompanying the development of the fortifications. Its purpose is to compare the initial and final stages of erecting the walls and to try to prove that historical events, as well as the political situation prevailing during the reign of the discussed dynasties had an impact on the development of the structures of the Great Wall of China. The first part of the work focuses on discussing the political situation and historical background of the first dynasties and the earliest walls, then cites the above issues from the Ming dynasty and finally focuses on the analysis and comparison of assumptions from both periods, which makes it possible to conclude that the indicated factors had an impact on the development fortifications.
