Tematem tej pracy jest fenomen call girl i jego reprezentacja w kulturze popularnej. Celem pracy jest zbadanie tej współczesnej wersji prostytucji i odpowiedź na pytania czy reprezentacja ta zrywa ze stereotypem prostytutki jako ofiary i czy można mówić o niej jako o kobiecie wyzwolonej. W pracy użyte są teorie zarówno kulturoznawcze, feministyczne jak i medioznawcze. Analizuję jeden z najbardziej znanych tekstów kultury popularnej- serial The secret diary of call girl. Praca jest próbą zbadania przedstawień współczesnej wersji prostytucji i sprzeczności, które w sobie kryje.

The theme of this thesis is the phenomenon of a call girl and its representation in popular culture. The aim of this study is to examine the modern version of prostitution, and to answer the question: does this representation breaks the stereotype of prostitutes as victims and if so, can we call them "liberated women"? This study uses culture theories, feminist and theories connected with media. I analyze one of the most famous text of popular culture - the series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Thesis is an attempt examine the representations contemporary version of prostitution and showed the contradictions which this phenemon hides in itself.
