CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY IN POLAND

Celem artykułu jest analiza stanu, jakości oraz skuteczności działań prowadzonych w zakresie psychiatrii dzieci i młodzieży w Polsce. Postawiono hipotezę, że stan leczenia psychiatrycznego w Polsce wymaga gruntownej reformy. W związku z tym postawiono pytania badawcze: Jakie czynniki wpływają na obecny stan psychiatrii dziecięcej w Polsce? Ile w Polsce wydaje się na finansowanie tego obszaru? Czy dostęp do lecznictwa jest możliwie łatwy dla każdego dziecka? Analizie poddano zdrowie fizyczne oraz psychiczne dzieci i młodzieży. W pracy przedstawiono wpływające na stan zdrowia dzieci i młodzieży czynniki, rodzaje zaburzeń psychicznych oraz metody leczenia psychiatrycznego. Treść pracy analizuje obecny stan zdrowia najmłodszych obywateli państwa polskiego, kwestie związane z obecnymi problemami powstałymi w wyniku pandemii, konsekwencje płynące z wprowadzanych zmian dla zdrowia psychicznego dzieci i młodzieży. Dokładnej analizie poddano również rolę państwa, organizacji pozarządowych i fundacji w działaniach na rzecz poprawy stanu polskiej psychiatrii dzieci i młodzieży. Wskazano wnioski, że wraz z wzrastającym zapotrzebowaniem na pomoc psychiatryczną wzrasta zapotrzebowanie na wprowadzanie zmian w obszarze systemu opieki psychiatrycznej, m.in większe dofinansowanie dla tego obszaru, uzupełnienie braków w kadrze specjalistów oraz stworzenie nowych miejsc, których obecnie brakuje w szpitalach i placówkach dla pacjentów. Pozwoli to na usprawnienie działania systemu oraz umożliwi łatwy dostęp do korzystania z opieki, pozbywając się przede wszystkim długiego okresu oczekiwania na pomoc.

The aim of the articleis to analyze the status, quality and effectiveness of activities in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry in Poland. It was hypothesized that the state of psychiatrict reatment in Poland requires a thorough reform. Therefore, the research questions were asked: What factors influence the currentstate of child psychiatry in Poland? How much isspent on financing this area in Poland? Isaccess to treatment as easy as possible for everychild? The physical and mental health of children and adolescents was analyzed. The paper presents factors affecting the health of children and adolescents, types of mentaldisorders and methods of psychiatric treatment. The content of the paper analyzes the current state of health of the youngest citizens of the Polish state, the issues related to the current problems arising as a result of the pandemic, the consequences of the introduced changes for the mental health of children and adolescents. The role of the state, NGOs and foundations in activities aimed at improving the state of Polish child and adolescent psychiatry was also thoroughly analysed. Conclusions were indicated that with the increasing demand for psychiatric help, there is an increasing need to make changes in the area of the psychiatric care system, including more funding for the area, filling the shortage of specialists and creating new places that are currently lacking in hospitals and facilities for patients. This will streamline the system and allow easy access to receive care, getting rid of long waiting times for help in the first place.
