Inequalities for singular values and eigenvalues

W matematyce, teoria wartości singularnych jest ważną częścią algebry liniowej, badającą pewien rozkład macierzowy, zwany rozkładem według wartości singularnych. Rozkład ten znajduje szerokie zastosowanie w statystyce, biologii genetycznej, farmacji oraz informatyce. W niniejszej pracy zostały przedstawione pewne podstawowe nierówności pomiędzy wartościami własnymi i singularnymi macierzy. Rozdział pierwszy zawiera nierówność Weyl'a, natomiast w czwartym została wprowadzona słaba majoryzacja. W ostatniej części pracy zamieszczono twierdzenie Yamamoto, opisujące asymptotyczne własności pomiędzy pewnym wyrażeniem zawierającym wartość singularną oraz wartością własną macierzy.

In mathematics, theory of singular values is concerned part of linear algebra. This can be studied, by considering some matrix decomposition, called Singular Value Decomposition which finds many applications in statistics, genetic biology, pharmacy and computer science. In this thesis there are shown a few basic inequalities between eigenvaues and singular values of the matrix. First chapter includes Weyl's inequality, in the fourth one there is introduced the weak majorization. Finally, in the last section there is implemented Yamamoto theorem, says that the limit of some expression with the largest absolute singular value tends to the eigenvalue.
