The natural and anthropogenic barriers to tourism development in Asia

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy są naturalne i antropogeniczne bariery rozwoju turystyki występujące w Azji. Turystyka jest jednym z najważniejszych sektorów gospodarki w tej części świata, jednak ze względu na jej niezwykle złożony charakter jest on wyjątkowo wrażliwy na problemy ekonomiczne, polityczne czy klimatyczne. Głównym celem pracy jest identyfikacja i klasyfikacja tych barier oraz próba ustalenia siły ich oddziaływania na turystykę, a także wykazanie powiązań między nimi na podstawie konkretnych przykładów. Ponadto, autorka stara się odpowiedzieć na następujące pytania: która bariera ma największe znaczenie hamujące, czy bariera może być sama w sobie atrakcją turystyczną oraz czy, i w jaki sposób da się bariery pokonać czy zminimalizować ich negatywne dla turystyki skutki.Analizując siłę wybranych barier, skupiono się głównie na sytuacji z ostatniej dekady: 2000-2010.

The following thesis encompasses the issue of the natural and anthropogenic barriers to tourism development in Asia. The tourism is one of the most important economic setors in this part of the world, but it is very sensitive to economic, political and climatic problems too. The main aim of the paper was to identify and classify these barriers. The author makes an attempt to estabilish what is the power of their impact on tourism in Asia and she presents what are the correlations between them on the basis of the particular examples. This thesis alsow tries to answer the following questions: which barrier is the most important hindrance to tourism development; if the barrier may to be attractive for tourists and if it is possible to remove or reduce the barriers. The scope of barriers analysis encompasses mainly the period from 2000 to 2010.
