Na początku opisane zostają decyzje polityczne zarówno władz kolonialnych, jak i późniejszego niepodległego rządu, doprowadzające kraj do wieloletniej izolacji gospodarczej oraz pogrążenia w stagnacji. Następnie przedstawione są próby pokonania niekorzystnej sytuacji, a także radykalne reformy, skutkujące zniesieniem wielu przestarzałych przepisów i regulacji, które dotychczas blokowały rozwój przemysłu. Dalszą analizą objęto wkroczenie przemysłu informatycznego na indyjski rynek oraz jego ekspansję, a także coraz większą rolę w rozwoju indyjskiej gospodarki. The thesis describes the political context and circumstances of the emergence of a new industry branch in the Indian market, which is IT services, as well as its further development and growing influence on the entirety of the Indian economy. At the beginning, the political decisions of both the colonial authorities and the later independent government are described, which led the country to long-term economic isolation and plunge into stagnation. Then there are presented the attempts to overcome the disadvantageous situation, as well as radical reforms, resulting in the abolition of many obsolete laws and regulations that have hitherto blocked the development of industry. Further analysis covered the entry of the IT industry into the Indian market and its expansion, as well as an increasingly important role in the development of the Indian economy. The issue of offshoring in the context of the Indian IT industry was also illustrated. The impact of the processes described on employees of IT companies is also presented. Then the city of Bengaluru was portrayed due to its key role in the development of the IT services industry. The last described element of the thesis is the international success that has become the participation of Indian IT companies.
