Depictions of Venus in Magdalenian culture in Central Europe

Niniejsza praca poruszać będzie temat figurek tzw. „Wenus” tworzonych przez paleolityczną ludność kultury magdaleńskiej. Zamierzam przedstawić tu wybrane stanowiska zaliczane do kultury magdaleńskiej, na których znaleziono figurki „Wenus” ,a także : dokonać opisu wybranych figurek magdaleńskich , porównać przedstawiane figurki ze sobą jak również z wcześniejszymi, wybranymi figurkami graweckimi , przedstawić możliwe znaczenie owych figurek , zastanowić się nad możliwymi drogami ich użytkowania w przeszłości , a także ukazać przegląd ich historii interpretacyjnej w nauce. Praca powstała w oparciu o szereg najnowszych , jak i nieco starszych publikacji i stanowi próbę ogólnej wizualizacji charakteru i znaczenia tego aspektu twórczości tej kultury ludzkiej.

This paper discusses the issues related to the Magdalenian Wenus Figurines , which are the elements of output of the Late Pleistocene Magdalenian culture. I am going to introduce You a few , selected examples of Magdalenian sites in Middle Europe , in which were discovered Female Figurines. In this paper will be presented the holistic view on this topic, containing : the description of the chosen Figurines, comparing the Figurines to earlier Figurines made by Gravettian society , presentation of possible meanings discussed Figurines in the past included to the possible ways of use. The work contains too the overview of the history of interpretations of these Female figurines. The work is based on a wide range of current and elders publications , which are connected with the Late Pleistocene Magdalenian culture in the point of : progression , dimension , output and significance of the Magdalenian Female Figurines. The purpose if the work is creation general visualization of character and meaning of these point of Magdalenian culture.
