Bestsellerowe powieści są często źródłem inspiracji dla twórców filmowych, którzy chętnie sięgają po znane już czytelnikom historie i kręcą na ich podstawie film. Tematem niniejszej pracy jest analiza porównawcza bestsellerowej powieści ,,Lektor” Bernharda Schlinka z filmem Stephena Daldry o tym samym tytule. Praca ma na celu pokazanie występujących różnic między dziełami podczas transformacji powieści na duży ekran. Reżyser dokonał szeregu zmian aby przedstawić historię przez medium jakim jest film. Niniejsza praca skupia się na różnicach, które mają wpływ na odbiór dzieła. Praca składa się z dwóch części: części teoretycznej oraz analitycznej. W części teoretycznej wyjaśnione zostają najważniejsze pojęcia związane z adaptacją filmową oraz podział adaptacji filmowych. Ponadto przedstawione zostają sposoby analizy powieści oraz filmu, co stanowi podstawę części analitycznej. Część analityczna podzielona jest na dwie części, na analizę treści oraz analizę formy. Analiza treści ukazuje różnice oraz podobieństwa w przedstawieniu fabuły oraz bohaterów w obu dziełach. W analizie formy skupiam się na analizie struktury oraz języka powieści oraz filmu. Ponadto przedstawiam środki stylistyczne użyte w powieści oraz środki filmowe użyte w ekranizacji . W części końcowej dokonuję analizy przesłania.

Bestselling novels are often an inspiration for filmmakers, who willingly reach for stories already known to readers and make movies based on them. The topic of this master’s thesis is an analysis of the bestselling novel ‘The Reader’ by Bernhard Schlink and with the movie by Stephen Daldry of the same title. The goal of this paper is to show the differences between these works that appear during the adaptation of the novel into the movie. The director made several changes to present the story as a film. This thesis focuses on the differences that effect the perception of the movie. The paper consists of two parts: a theoretical and an analytical one. In the theoretical part, the most important expressions connected with the film adaptation are explained and it is presented as a classification of film adaptations. Moreover there are demonstrated methods of analysing a novel and a movie which are the basis for the analytical part. The analytical section is divided in two parts, analysis of the content and analysis of the form. The analysis of the content shows differences and similarities in presenting the plot and the characters in both pieces. In the analysis of the form I focus on the rhetorical devices used in the novel and their adaptation into film. At the end of my paper I analyze the message of the work.

Die Bestseller sind oft eine Inspiration für die Filmschöpfer, die auf Basis von bereits bekannten Geschichten neue Filme drehen möchten. Das Thema der vorliegenden Arbeit ist eine Vergleichsanalyse des Bestsellerromans ,, Der Vorleser“ von Bernhard Schlink mit dem gleichnamigen Film von Stephen Daldry. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Unterschiede zwischen den Werken aufzuzeigen, die während der Transformation des Romans in einen Film stattfanden. Der Regisseur nimmt viele Änderungen vor, um die Geschichte durch das Medium Film zu zeigen. Die vorliegende Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Unterschiede, die einen Einfluss auf die Wahrnehmung des Werkes haben.Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen: einem theoretischen und einem analytischen Teil. In dem theoretischen Teil werden die wichtigsten Begriffe, die mit Verfilmung verbunden sind, erklärt und die Gliederung der Adaptationen aufgezählt. Darüber hinaus werden hier die Methoden der Roman- und Filmanalyse präsentiert, die die Basis des analytischen Teils bilden. Der analytische Teil wird in zwei Unterteile gegliedert: in Inhaltsanalyse und Formanalyse. Die Inhaltsanalyse zeigt die Unterschiede in der Darstellung der Handlung und der Protagonisten in beiden Werken. In der Formanalyse konzentriere ich mich auf die Struktur- und Sprachanalyse des Romans und Films. Desweiteren präsentiere ich im Roman verwendete stilistische Mittel und die filmischen Mittel, die in der Verfilmung benutzt werden. Am Ende der Arbeit führe ich eine Aussageanalyse durch.
