Late Medieval and Early Modern age stoves of the hypocaustum type, and tile stoves from Silesia, Czech Republic and Moravia.

Praca zajmuje się tematyką pieców typu hypokaustum, oraz pieców kaflowych z terenu Śląska, Czech i Moraw w okresie późnego średniowiecza i wczesnej nowożytności. Poruszane są zagadnienia związane z genezą tych typów ogrzewania, konstrukcją urządzeń, funkcją jaką pełniły, oraz ich lokalizacją. W przypadku pieców kaflowych praca skupia się na rekonstruowanych urządzeniach, oraz sposobach przeprowadzania prawidłowej rekonstrukcji.

Presented work deals with the stoves of hypocaustum type and tiles stoves from Silesia, Czech Republic and Moravia from Late Medieval and Early Modern period. Author is interested in origin of those heating systems, their construction, function, and localisation. In the case of tile stoves only the reconstructed specimens are taken into consideration. One of the chapters deals with the methods of correct stove reconstruction.
