Tourism as a factor in the transformation of the natural environment on the Galapagos Island

Praca przedstawia wpływ ruchu turystycznego na środowisko przyrodnicze archipelagu Galapagos. Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Rozdział pierwszy omawia turystykę jako czynnik przemian środowiska przyrodniczego w świetle literatury przedmiotu. W drugim rozdziale zaprezentowano środowisko przyrodnicze Wysp Galapagos i jego wrażliwość na czynniki zewnętrzne. Trzeci rozdział przedstawia początki oraz stan obecny turystyki przyjazdowej na Galapagos. Natomiast rozdział czwarty został poświęcony ochronie zasobów przyrodniczych Wysp Galapagos w kontekście rozwoju turystyki. Pracę oparto na źródłach zastanych. Wykorzystano szeroką literaturę naukową poruszającą takie kwestie, jak wpływ turystyki na środowisko naturalne, sposoby jego ochrony oraz dotyczącą środowiska naturalnego Wysp Galapagos. Przedmiotem analizy były także raporty o stanie turystyki na Wyspach.

The work presents the impact of tourism on the natural environment of the Galapagos archipelago. The work consists of four chapters. The first chapter discusses tourism as a factor in the transformation of the natural environment in light of the literature on the subject. The second chapter presents the natural environment of the Galapagos Islands and its sensitivity to external factors. The third chapter presents the origins and current state of inbound tourism in the Galapagos. And the fourth chapter was devoted to the protection of the natural resources of the Galapagos Islands in the context of tourism development. The work was based on foundational sources. A wide range of scientific literature addressing issues such as the impact of tourism on the environment, ways to protect it, and on the natural environment of the Galapagos Islands was used. Reports on the state of tourism in the Islands were also the subject of analysis.
